Denise Octavia Smith is the  Executive Director for the National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) among many additional hats. Only 6 months into her new role of leading the charge for Community Health Workers she is full throttle engaged in providing resources and having conversations about how the workforce for CHWs can continue to expand and also better equip CHWs for their roles during Covid-19. This conversation we learn more about Denise, her journey working with a variety of communities and cultures and learn some actionable tips on how to be bold as CHW and get engaged in those leadership roles. With this week being World Health Worker Week and the theme of Leaders on the Front Line,  this conversation adds to the campaign and will be sure to empower you to step out of your box and be the leader you were meant to be.
